I’m a gray-haired guy sitting on a balcony drinking tea and typing into this here reply-box via a phone, so am I the same guy as last time? Maybe.

Well, I believe in the time since the original AC shut down and now, the majority of cells in your body have died and been replaced by new ones, so technically no, you are not the same guy as last time. Welcome back all the same though!

Hello all! It’s Megan (Hippiechick) Great to be back and writing again. I abandoned it for a while as I continued my painting instead. Now I teach painting classes and show some of my work to a local gallery. (Along with the boring 9-5 job) Still single and looking to write some more tortuous - love - angst poetry full of word visuals and color. 😉 ✌🏻💕

Great to see you back Megan. And wonderful that you are doing your art. Can't wait to read your new poetry. John

That's true, Volkov, heh. So, my replacement fingers and replacement eyeballs are helping my old brain to log into a replacement website. I suppose that's all aces.

Hi everyone! I’m still Doreen 😉
Nice to see you all again! I just found out about this yesterday. Thanks to whoever handled setting it up! This is very cool!
Is the entire old database here? Can we search and find old posts?
I hope you’re all doing well. I rarely write anything anymore but wanted to say hi. Maybe you all will inspire me.

Brain cells (neurons) are among the cells that do not get replaced. They do regenerate themselves over time though, replacing their individual parts.

Sasha here - same old retired engineering physicist with delusions of artistry. Kept my handle when I washed ashore at Studio 8, too old to change it now (71 as of last count). Feels odd to be back, to see all the old familiar handles: agrimeer, volkov, piph, pyro, winddance, etc, etc - like being at a class reunion! (As if I'd know...) Doreen: thanks for the heads-up, I never would have found my way back on my own! (Post Script - "sasha likes this" Sorry, I didn't recognize the icon on the Like button as a "like", so I just pressed it to see what would happen. I won't be doing that again....)

I believe my original SN was just Bryan - my name and a tad un-original I doubt any/many would remember me but I am back all the same. I was never good at poetry and expect I have gotten worse since I have not done anything in a long, long time but I may try my hand again as I have fond memories of AC and some of the people even if most are not here.
Though, I do remember most of the names here so glad to have AC back in any capacity and hope it picks up.

Beki here, original member, haiku moderator and asmin. So exciting to see so many old friends have found their way back. Piph, winddancer, John, Shannon, Brom, sasha...great to see you Sasha! And Bryan, i remember you and your poetry very well. What have I been doing the last 4 years?
Moving a lot. Most recently I retired from the public library 2 years ago and moved to Washington State to be with a man. I reconnected with an old high school friend and we got married this last St Patricks day(5 months ago) The move and the marriage have been a huge learning curve for this SoCal beach kid who now lives in a very small rural town 15 miles from anything on 5 acres with horses. And after being divorced for 24 years...everything about marriage is very new.i miss my family like crazy. My oldest granddaughter Gracie has made me a great grandmother and baby Caleb will be a year old next month.
Beore i retired I ws teaching poetry workshops to our library teens and co running an annual teen poetry prose and photography contest which culminated in a winners book which i edited and created.my favorite job task for 9 years.
I got very involved with a haiku study group and last year edited their annual anthology. That was a ton of work but I loved it and couldn't be more proud of the finished product.
Its been great to catch up with you all in this thread. Oh and Pam (Rougestrega) sends love and cookies with her regrets she will not be rejoining us as writing is no longer a part of her life. I assured her she will be greatly missed.
So lets see where this new adventure takes us all. Again couldn't be more thrilled to be back in the blue and gold.

hey beki welcome to washington. I always felt we were like coincidence twins. my real name rebecca (becca), grew up in the san fernando valley, love haiku, moved to tiny town in washington and worked at the library. I also did poetry workshops there. You are one up on me though, no great grandchildren yet.
