Hi, this is petra returning after twenty years. retired teacher. I was very pleased to see the cafe back up and excited to start reading and writing, but i have to say i am very surprised to note how quiet it is here. Kind of feels like i went to where the music died. Anyone else have a thought about this?

Yes, I've noticed it too. After an initial burst of activity, it appears that folks just resumed their post-AC lives. Class reunions are fun, but do you really want to return to who you were when you were still in school? I suspect many found new creative outlets when AC folded, and have hedged their bets on this revival.

We need new ways to revive the community that once was. cenacle and I tried to revive this forum. I think what we need is more content and more sharing to a wider audience of poets/artists...
Let's brainstorm and find a way to revive.
We need community, we need staff, we need to share this as widely as possible.
Much Love, David/Brom.

Thanks for responding Dave, I appreciate what you folks are trying to do to increase participation. I dont have any brilliant solutions, but if people could be reminded that the way it used to work, and everyone seemed to just intuit this, that is to say it was not a stated rule, but the courtesy extended to each followed the line of, if you post something it is expected that you will read and comment on something. Other than that i got nothing better than a sort of social contract.

I completely agree with the exchange of posts instead of just posting your own. It seems that it takes an impetus to get the ball rolling. But certainly that is a great way to do it.
