Raise the roof my children, Rattle rafters and chase the flame, Let the holy ghost fill your pockets, You'll never be poor again.
Dance down Christ's brides in the morning, Kiss their lips and stroke their hair, Promise to baptize their babies, Take their souls into your care.
Give us meat lord, drink and fire, then sit here for a spell, We will toast the ghost in our pockets, and serve each other well.
Oh raise it high now youngsters, Wake Lazrus with a roar, He must not miss his chance to dance, before he sleeps once more.
So shout again my little ones, Rattle glass and praise the name. Tuck the ghost into your pocket, You'll never be poor again.
