We were geckoes man, Skitterin' across hot coals, Layin' down a line of fine dust, from Rockport to Point Arena, makin' time in a powder blue bug eyed sprite, Eatin' up the night, ragtop poppin' in our ears. Swinging sweet and sibilant through seaside rollin' coastals, Jacked back, slappin' those gears, flippin' them switchbacks in the backseat rummble, and a tumble down moon was sneakin' peaks through the trees, at a powder blue streak cross a misty manic night. She signed on the dotted line like a fine point Faberge, While paralaxin' porch lights flashed fallin' star-like, shinin' in the past, Til whiskey bars loomed like a windshield full o' stop signs.

what a great beat. Petra, would you record yourself doing this one? thanks Judih, but i will take a pass on that request. I don't like the sound of my voice, it is native amd down in the mud, difficult to understand. I did have a young friend ask if he could read it to his lit class at Berkeley. The challenge was to recite it in one breath to add to the fast paced urgency inherent in sports car driving.

Yet, your voice, your choice.) Would you permit me to record it? - it won't be you, but it would be a dedicated fan's tribute.

If you'd like me to record you, we could set up a zoom meeting. I record the meeting and then extract the sound. This would be computer to computer. or Do you have a smart phone? If so, you could record yourself reading and send me the recording. What do you think?

i tried recording yesterday just for fun, but, in fact, there is another, someone superb, who records spoken word. I might just find out if he's interested. So, thanks!

There's a story here, told in mental pictures ... --I'm a kind of fly on the wall, a hidden mote in the backseat with a clear view of the stick shift and shoulders. I note that the first word ("We") has a lot of weight here, cuz this would be a completely different poem if only one soul occupies the "bug eyed sprite".
OK, gotta dance a DOS-dance now:
glorious humming comet, with a vague name in enamel, its tires roll like rolls on the go, roaring murmur of long wind, iron eyes alight burning away a slice of night.
