the
sound
of
the rain
clapping
in the
tapping
of
the river rushing
in
the
current
undertow
swallowing
me; and,
i
still
cannot
drown the
sound
of
the rain
clapping
in the tapping
of
the river
rushing
in
the
current
undertow
swallowing
me; and,
I
still cannot
drown

Powerful my friend. Your lines "and I still cannot drown" take this to a higher level of despair that rolls the river's undertow into a catch-22 that makes for a poem stronger than even drowning. This is a real poetic power that swallows me as I read into the depths of sorrow. No one can do this better than you my friend.
