so here i sit, a subtle stance at a time aware you will not enter or dare stare at the sterling that still lines us, dear
a fear which hastily hurried your heart to pound
so here i wait not, sense not your coming as i lay crumbled like feta in my dish, in morsels here I dare not sit, swallowing slowly to delay my departure nonsensically
if perhaps your presence may protrude through the door
so i sit here hovering over the fly-less rim of my glass for a length of time face finding then i spin sporadically downwards like a carnival ride to eventually play the pavement
or perhaps this pulse, between blank receipts, renders me numb
so in pigeon script, I penciled a piece aware that i Sand* you a staccato, although unplayed sweet scales of if i could have been i would have had you play the part, lengthen
i fear the haste that hurried your pace away
but still, i know that you also sit we sit as we always will, at a time aware i will not enter or dare tear the stare that first lined us, dear

A melancholy poem felt in the solitude of a hearts grown apart. Truly love the realism here and how you paint the loss so deeply. You show me a world I have visited and know so well. But you do it with the artistry of a genuine poet whose work has come to impress me even more as the years roll by.

My favorite radio personality, Garrison Keillor, said marriages don't fail they have a beginning and sometimes an end. But nothing that comes from love is a mistake. Anything born of love is right.

Oh! That hit hard. It’s brilliant, really. Holy crap! Sorry, the energy around me is sounding.

Hope it gave you something hopeful and positive to ponder and feel. Indeed, it was intended as a new way of channeling energy that often escapes when the downside creeps in. Like the conservation of energy axiom love is never lost. It stays in our hearts.

But take heart in the fact that marriages often last a lifetime. And love is the most important element in the universe that ties us together and binds our hearts as one. Not knowing the context of your poem I can only say that there is no need for an end and your faith in the love for whomever not being lost is a sign that this person will stay in your life indefinitely.

One thing is for sure you don't have to worry about me backing out of your life. So long as you will have me I am here.

This poem is brilliant. I have read it over many times and not found a way to respond properly.
Please, never stop writing and sharing your work.
Much Love, David.
