Through the wires I always knew You wouldn't make it I'd never see you again Honey, I know you tried But you never had a chance The older I get The more friends I lose The flames of old lovers Flicker out forever Never thought I'd be The one to make it Long enough to get old Still uncertain sometimes Whether the worse tragedy Is to die young Some prettier than others Or to feel the years Creep down your bones Watch line form Every day in the mirror Where your reflection Looks less like you With every piece inside That dies with Every one of them The hardest part of wisdom Is the loss required To learn how to grieve With grace you can't feel Because the world never stops When a life is snuffed out Or we would never move And I don't want to be In the way my whole life But I can carry them As long as my mind Holds itself together Hide the moment of jealousy When I hear sometimes I have to keep breathing To remember Those who no longer can

This is a beautifully rendered and heartfelt ode to those lost and gone. Striking words, indeed:

This is so deeply felt and passionate. I think about this every day but you gave me the words to really see these feelings as only you can pen my friend. This is the story of my current life. You painted this with images and emotions that reverberated through my soul. Thank you my friend for writing the poetry whose words have eluded me for so long. You did it for me.
