According to CNN, heavily armed Hamas terrorists are swarming across the Gaza border into civilian areas of Israel as part of their assault. One of the affected settlements is the kibbutz Nir-Oz, where Judih Haggai - our judih - lives. I have not heard anything directly from her. All I know is that the situation looks dire, and about all we can do is hope somehow for the best. Not much else to say at this time.

I'm worried. She's been offline since Sat morning. Others' posts on her FB page indicate that her and her husband were outside the kibbutz on a walk when the attack began with rockets flying above them.

Here’s more, from 20 mins ago, from Ira Hilf, in a FB post:
“…My and my sister's friend Judih … appears to be either killed or taken hostage and her kibbutz destroyed within hours on Saturday. Her family just doesn't know. I hold her in the most beautiful light—she posted haiku's and taught mindfulness to children.”

She deserves so much better. I'm not ready to start using past tense. The fog of war is still pretty thick. I hope so, anyway.

More info can be found in a NY Times article--a description that sounds a lot like Judih. Her husband! Attachments:

Just thought of something. It might be useful to share this ^ info with that other board. I'm not a member there. Could any of y'all who are members there please share this info over there? Could be generally useful. Such info may also eventually lead to that retired nurse, who may in turn know more info.

Sure I can post a link to this thread over there. I'm not sure how much info there is to share, though - unless I'm doing something wrong, the NYT attachments appear to be image files of the 1st paragraphs of an article, not a link to the article itself...

Do you have a link to the New York Times article? I am not a subscriber, but with a link, I can ask someone I know who is a subscriber to send me the text. There’s not enough information on the screenshots. Thank you!
Unfortunately I had to close the new membership option on Studio8 a least two years ago. We were inundated with spambots and I had no choice because I know nothing about the technology to fix the problem. That said, it’s a public forum site so you can read there anytime you want. I’d be scared to open up memberships again due to the probability of bot infestation. Thx for understanding.
And thanks for posting the NYT link to that article!!

I just read the paragraph. It’s not about her— because she called Adele Raemer to tell her she and her husband had been shot (according to Adele Raemer). And this article says a retired nurse by another name received a call. Adele is a teacher.
Anyway thx for the lead, Agrimmer!
If you’d like to join Studio8 to post there, I’ll figure out a way to manually set up a new membership for you without opening membership to the public. I just thought of this. Let me know. If not, no problem. 😊
